The Diary Of Ann Frank

I recomend the diary of ann frank to anyone who can handle a scary, sad, and true story. I think that most people have heard of the book...but a lot of people are too scared to read it. I understand that the the book is really hard to read, but i recomend it to everyone over the age of 11. Some parts are kind of inapropriate...if you don't feel comfortable reading the adult version there is a less intence one for pre-teens. The story is about a jewish girl and her family that have to go in to hiding, this girl Ann Frank kept a diary of almost everything. She explains the hide out and what goes on all day. The hide out is now a museaum in germany that you can visit, you can see where they slept, ate and talked. There were only two ways they could communicate with the outside world, a small radio and the people that were helping them hide. These people were extremely courageous for hiding them, they were putting their own life at risk to hide this family.

When You Reach Me

Hey Blog readers!!! When You Reach Me is a really good book. I have read it 3 times, I know a lot of people read it last year in 6th grade....but since its SO good I needed to make a blog on it.

WARNING: This book is very confusing, sometimes you have to go back and read the chapter before to see whats going on.

So, When you Reach me is about a girl named Miranda and a Boy names Sal. One day Miranda and Sal were walking back from school and Sal got punched in the face. After that Sal didn't want to be friends with Miranda anymore (you find out why at the end of the book.) This is a really hard change for Miranda because Sal was pretty much her only friend. A couple days after he got punched Miranda started getting black mailed, she got freaked out and told her mom...but it kept on happening. The thing about this book is that every single little detail happens for a reason, so you really have to pay attention otherwise you will get completely lost. I would tell you what happens next but that would give too much away...so you have to read it for your self!!!!

P.S. The Same author (Rebecca Stead) Wrote another book called First Light, its not quite as good...but its still pretty good!!!

The hunger games.

The hunger games is a book with a lot of action and suspence. It is definatley on the the best books i have ever read. it starts with a girl and a boy. The girls name is katniss and tje boys name is peeta. They got picked in a raffle to be in the yearly hunger games. The hinger games is a horrible contset that the capital holds, it is where thry take two kids (a girl and a boy) from each district. The kids are put in an arena and are froced to fight to the death against eachother. Peeta and katniss pretend to fall in love with eachother so that the sponsors will feel simpathy for them. Because there can be only 1 winner. I don't want to give away anymore of the book, because I everyone to read it!!!!

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie

I thought that The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian was right for me. This book is a perfect mixture of Funny and Emotional. I think that it was amazingly written. The main character Junior narrates the book. The book is all about his life living on an Indian Reservation, his life seems really hard. He goes to a school where all the teachers hate him, and all the kids pick on him because he was born with a variety of medical problems. He only has one friend who is really tough; he beats up all the kids that pick on Junior. Eventually Junior gets tired of being picked on so he decides to leave the reservation and go to school somewhere else.

On the first day of the new school EVERYONE picks on him since he is the only Indian there. Eventually he makes some friends and falls in love with a girl. Junior had a really hard time that year, his grandma, sister and dad’s friend all died. The only family he has left are his mom and dad. All the people on the reservation are mad at him for leaving to go to school outside of the reservation including his best friend. One day his new school plays his old school in basket ball. His best friend threw the ball at him and he had to get stitches on his face. I know from this summary this book doesn’t seem funny at all. I don’t really know how to describe the funny parts, so you will just have to read it for your self!
